We realize winter isn’t over, but spring time is right around the corner for us Michiganders. Which means it’s time to start opening up the beach homes and allowing the Michigan air back in.
So in light of the warmer temperatures on the horizon, we figured an article on beach house flooring would be perfect. So let’s take a look at some ideas for beach house flooring.
Easy Cleaning
When thinking about a day at the beach or outside, there’s several things that come to mind — sand, water, dirt, grass, mud. Beach houses are amazing to have, but constantly require cleaning, especially the floors. Make your life easier and your vacation better by choosing the appropriate floors for your home away from home.
You’re going to want a floor that’s easy to sweep, mop or vacuum on a daily, sometimes hourly, basis.
Luxury Vinyl
Luxury vinyl is a great option. There are several styles including ones that mimic the appearance of hardwood, stone or ceramic tile. The top layer is coated with a thick finish making clean ups a simple process. Also, many luxury vinyl tiles and planks mimic tile and wood patterns and are actually waterproof.
Tile
Tile is also great a great choice. Tile is durable resists water and is very easy to sweep or mom during those beautiful spring and summer days.
Keep in mind your entry ways as they will endure through lots of water and moisture as people make their way in from the beach. It’s best to steer clear of floors that don’t like water, like hardwood. And as always, try to lay a down a nice welcome mat or rubber mat to prevent as much moisture as possible.
Do yourself a favor and install an easy to clean floor in your beach house so you can spend most of your time lounging by the water and enjoying the summer months!
