Tiles are easy to clean and maintain, making them a great flooring option that also look amazing if done right. Tiles come in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and colors, providing you with plenty of options to match the style of your home. Each individual tile is also unique adding the perfect touch of character to your home.
Narrowing down the options and picking the right tile can be difficult since there are so many to choose from, so here’s a guide to some of the more popular choices.
Luxury Vinyl Tile: One of our customer favorites, Luxury Vinyl Tile is warmer, softer, and quieter than ceramic, porcelain and stone. The tiles come in a variety of sizes and styles and are extremely durable. They can be grouted just like other tile types, although the grout is acrylic, which is much more stain resistant. It also does not require any sealing.
Porcelain: These tiles are fired at a high temperature making them very durable and therefore, moisture resistant. Porcelain tiles can be used for walls, floors and bathrooms.
Ceramic: Ceramic tiles are made mainly from clay and are fired in a kiln before being treated with a glaze, giving them a brighter color. These tiles work well for walls, floors, bathrooms and can even be used for countertops.
Natural Stone: Offering a variety of color choices, natural stone tiles make for beautiful floors. They can be used for walls, floors and bathrooms. If used in a bathroom, however, make sure the tiles are sealed to provide extra water resistance.
There are other tile options out there, these are just the main three. When flooring your home, you want a certain look, style, comfort level and resistance. So make sure you understand what each type of tile offers. As always, if you need any advice, we are only a phone call away!
